Specialist recruitment firm, AIL International Limited, opened its UK branch in 1990. The Japanese company, headquartered in Tokyo, provides high calibre engineering staff to its clients around the world. As well as advertising its clients' international positions in the national press, its management wanted to provide potential candidates with a continually updated list of openings. The company, which mainly handles a steady stream of engineering contract jobs abroad, has built-up a candidate database of over 15,000 qualified engineers. “Even with our substantial database of potential candidates, we still want to attract the right level of talented and experienced engineers”, director Mr Kodama states. “We wanted to keep a live database of jobs on the Internet so that engineers thinking of working overseas could keep up-to-date with suitable opportunities. At the same time, we wanted a database facility that we could update ourselves and that was simple to use. GoldStreak Studios understood our requirements exactly and delivered just the right solution for us.”

Mr Kodama had a clear idea of what the initial website needed to achieve but also wanted it to be flexible enough to adapt to future requirements. Being database driven allows his staff to make changes to vacancy information quickly and efficiently. New types of information can easily be added to the database when the time comes.

“We wanted a simple website facility that was clear to use with no fussy design features. Every few months, we'll review how well the site is performing and make enhancements as necessary”, Mr Kodama confirms. “The site will be very welcomed, especially by engineers working abroad who are coming to the end of their current contracts and who want to see what openings are in the pipeline.”
